Avoriaz

I was lucky enough to make it out to Avoriaz last week with Just Snowboard Camps who are supported by Quiksilver! As I ride for Quiksilver Henry Shackleton and myself got the opportunity to go out and help on the camps as Quik riders. We spent the days shredding with guys on the camps and getting up to all sorts of other stuff, managed to arrive in time for some much needed snow fall and we got powder all week! Here is the edit from our week, hopefuly heading back out on another camp around the end of January. Thanks to Tammy, Olly, Meena and James, had an awesome time!

Edinburgh and Cairngorm.

So we were down in Edinburgh for the Scottish Invitational last weekend. It was a really good day and the park team at Sno!zone did an amazing job the set up was awesome!

Jamie and I both made the finals along with Cairngorm massive rider Angus “Das Goose” Leith and Connor Carey. Those guys absolutely killed it the whole day and Connor destroyed the final.

Edit up soon

Short edit of us up the hill at the weekend, there’s a lot of snow so it looks like it will be a good season.

1st Day on Cairngorm!

Had an epic opening day on the hill yesterday! The sun was out, light winds and the hil had even put up a line of rollers and two rails on the ptarmigan!

Avoriaz and Edinburgh Invitationals!

On Sunday I am heading out to Avoriaz! It has been snowing hard out there and I can’t wait to go shredding! I will be out with Quiksilver, helping with the Just Snowboard Camps which Quik sponsor. It will be a fun week, Uk Quik rider Henry Shackleton and my team manager James Stentiford will be out, so will hopefully get some edits of Shackles and I and might even get some pow!

I am going to come back slightly early to compete in the Edinburgh Invitational Rail Jam in Princess Street Gardens, which Angus and Andrew wil be riding in and we will let you know how it goes! In the mean time have a look at Just Snowboard Camps and the Snowsports Scotland Page for Updates on the Inviational.

Cheers, Jamie :D

Bearsden Lowlander –

On saturday Gus and I were down in Glasgow, despite the snow back home, competing in the Scottish Dryslope Champs at Bearsden which was the final in the lowlander (dryslope) leg of the Scottish Freestyle Series. Gus just missed out but he seemed happy, getting his run stomped and trying bs 7 which he was close to landing! I had a pretty good day and some how managed to get 1st in the Open category! Which was a suprise but can’t complain, stoked on the result! Big up to Marc McLement, Danny McCormick and Matt McCormick who killed it all day! Ended up staying at the McCormicks that night and had good fun chilling and cathing up with them :D

Snow!

Recently we have been receiving quite a bit of snow! It is a good base and with more snow too come soon it shouldn’t be too long before the hill is open! There is a nice wee bit of snow down in the village too, so we are heading to Glenmore for the Cairngorm Snowboard Clubs Wednesday Freestyle Night which will be awesome! Check out the webcam and watch this space!

Cairngorm Mountain Work Experience!

Through my Sport & Recreation Skills for Work course at school, Jamie McWilliam and I are doing work experince every Thursday on Cairngorm Mountain! It is a great opportunity and allows us both to see how the Mountain works as a company and all the seperate roles that are essential for the hill to work efficiently. We get a taste of each of these roles and also spend time mostly with ski patrol and building the terrain park. This will continue for a good 5/6 weeks so will hopefully get some footage and some more updates on what we get up to!

Cheers, Jamie.
