QUIKSILVER SNOW TEAM UPDATE: JAMIE TRINDER HITS UP THE SNOW IN TUX AND THE SNOWPLEX IN ABERDEEN

Quiksilver snow team rider, Jamie Trinder just returned from a couple weeks out in Tux and reports back on his first shred of the season:

‘I had an awesome time, pretty much got BS double 10s. Met Billy Morgan (fellow Quiksilver rider) out there as well which was cool to get to know him. Weather was pretty poor 1st week but got about 4 good days on the pro-line and got my double front too on larger jumps which was sick.’

No rest for the wicked, since returning from Austria he took 2nd in the Lowlander/Scottish Freestyle Series and won “Own It”, which is the best overall snowboarder. If you ever hit the Aberdeen Snowsports Centre this year, check out his new giant poster!

So on Saturday we headed over to Aberdeen dry slope for the first Lowlander and Own it (combined comp). It was a really fun day shredding the rails and hitting the jump a bit. It was to ride with my mates Matt Corry and Sam McGrath from Glasgow as I haven’t seen them in a while. Jamie had a really good day and managed to get second in the lowlander and win “Own it” overall which he is really stoked on!!!! I didn’t manage to place as my jumps weren’t that good but I had a good time…

So its been a really good week despite not getting up for the first two days. The afternoon’s and downday’s were taken up by skating and trampolining at Aschau at the Swimming pool in Fungen or at the bowl in Mayerhofen but the days we got up were nice but a bit windy, these we spent on freeriding and edge control on the lower slopes and on Friday we finally got to ride the jumps and although it was slow the medium line was open so we were riding that for a bit, I was pretty happy as I got my bs 3′s sorted out on a decent size jump. Later on we had a session on this big pipe stall and all got a few good tricks down…we were all super stoked for Gregor as he did his first park feature and managed to stomp it on his 3rd try!!!!

Jamie is still out and will be coming home on Friday for the Lowlander/Own it at Aberdeen which should be fun, we’ll try and get an edit up from the comp asap so watch this space.

Arrived in Mayrhofen last night, staying at the “Pension Waldegg” pretty cool wee place although the landlord speaks no english what so ever!

Today we had a down day and went to a skatepark with trampolines and climbing just down the valley and got some go pro footage so will post that later in the trip.

Hopefully get up tomorrow for a shred and some filming!

Sooo, We are flying to Hintertux tomorow with Andrew and Greg, It’s going to be such a rad trip and we are super excited(taking the laptop so will keep you posted).

Also Jamie placed first overall at the Burton Hi5 which he was super stoked on and I didn’t podium but got tons of good tricks and everyone said I was killing.

So all in all been a good week and we will put an update after the first day riding!!!
